According to Wccftech, Apple will first introduce micro LED technology in the new Apple Watch Ultra in 2024, and then expand it to all of its product lines, including the iPhone, iPad, and Mac lines, which could take a decade or so.

Apple chose to introduce micro LED technology starting with the Apple Watch Ultra, largely because the wearables themselves have smaller displays, making mass production easier. Apple is rumored to be planning to produce a micro LED display, so it can be understood that the smaller the screen size, the easier it will be to develop. Although the micro LED is very attractive in terms of technical indicators, it is still in its early stages and is a relatively complex technology.

micro LED, like OLED, is a self-lighting display technology that does not require additional backlight and has a longer lifespan because it is made of inorganic materials. micro leds are more power-efficient than traditional LCDS because they do not require a power-hungry backlight source. With manufacturing sources saying the technology could reach maturity by 2024, it seems Apple is eager to get its hands on the technology.
