Entering the third quarter, the TV contract manufacturing market entered the traditional peak season, the biggest promotional season in mainland China and overseas stock has started. At the same time, the panel price stopped falling so that the whole TV BOM cost was confirmed at the bottom, and the brand manufacturers' ordering mentality and delivery speed were further positive.
According to RUNTO's Monthly Tracking report on the Global TV contract Manufacturing Market, in the third quarter of 2022, the global TV contract manufacturing market (including Changhong, Konka, Skyworth and Hisense's four own factories) shipped a total of about 27 million units, up more than 6% year on year.
In terms of subdivision, the top ten professional contract factories within the statistical range (excluding the four brand owned factories) have a 50/50 rise and fall, and the aggregation effect is obvious. Among them, MOKA (Moka) and BOE VT (Video), as representative factories with stable brand outlet and panel resources respectively, have significant core competitiveness. Both of them have double-digit growth compared with the same period last year, and they are also the only two growing factories among the top five professional contract factories in the third quarter.
MOKA moved to the top of the list with 3.25 million units shipped in the third quarter, up about 14% year on year. Since July, the factory has shipped more than 1 million units for three consecutive months. And from February, consecutive eight months of rare month-on-month growth.
In second place was TPV, the former No. 1, which shipped 3.19 million units in the third quarter, down about 13% from a year earlier. Although September's shipments were the highest to date, July's 660,000 units were a drag on the quarter. Self-owned Philips (Philips) and AOC brands accounted for more than 40% of the shipment, but Philips' strategic expansion in the European market was not smooth. Judging from the current order status, it is impossible to catch up with the performance of 2021, and it is highly likely to reach about 13.6 million shipments.
Foxconn shipped 2.41 million units in the third quarter, moving it to third place among specialty contract manufacturers, maintaining its position in 2021 but down about 17% year on year. Since the beginning of this year, Foxconn's monthly shipments have been declining year on year, mainly due to the over-concentration of customers, mainly SONY and Sharp, which is not resilient in the context of the overall global market decline.
BOE VT (video) shipped 2.33 million units, with a year-on-year increase of more than 70%, ranking fourth among professional foundry. The main customer structure includes overseas Samsung, Vizio, LG, Bestbuy and domestic Xiaomi, Hisense and Huawei. The most significant increment comes from the largest customer Xiaomi, which doubled its year-on-year growth in the third quarter, with its shipment share exceeding 40%.
AMTC (Trillion) shipped 2.23 million units, down more than 15% year on year, ranking fell to the fifth specialized OEM, and the monthly ranking is relatively unstable, in July was ranked second, August and September fell behind. The decline is mainly due to a high proportion of the decline in the export market.
Among other specialized foundries, KTC (Kangguan) shipped about 2 million units excluding modules in the third quarter, ranking sixth. HKC (Huike) shipped nearly 1.6 million units, a sharp increase of about 60% year on year, ranking seventh. Express Luck shipped about 1.3 million units, up 18% year over year. Innolux shipped about 560,000 units, a significant year-on-year decrease of more than 50%, has withdrawn from the competition of leading manufacturers.
