According to screen analyst Ross Young, Apple is expected to launch an 11/12.9-inch iPad Pro with OLED panels in the first half of 2024.

The new iPad Pro with the M2 chip was launched yesterday, but the screen remains the same, and the 11-inch model has yet to follow up with mini-LEDs. Apple debuted a mini-LED display on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in April 2021, despite rumors that the 11-inch model would follow suit, that didn't happen.

Compared with the mini-LED technology, Apple's planned OLED display will reportedly include a two-layer series structure with two red, green and blue emitting layers to improve brightness. OLED displays also have higher power efficiency, which helps extend battery life. And according to a DigiTimes report released earlier this month, Apple may adopt a hybrid OLED technology for the iPad in 2024, this technology can reduce production costs while making equipment thinner.
