On January 16, according to foreign media reports, the 11-inch and 13-inch OLED version of the iPad Pro is expected to enter mass production around March, in order to release it as planned in April.

Currently, the largest iPad is the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which uses a mini-LED panel. mini-LED panels are superior to LCD panels, but experts still believe that OLED panels are still the best panels.

In late November 2023, whistleblower Majin Bu shared extensive details about the 2024 iPad Pro. He said the 2024 iPad Pro will come in 11-inch, 12.9-inch and 14.1-inch sizes. Among them, the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro will have OLED panels, while the 14.1-inch iPad Pro will have mini-LED panels to reduce costs.

In addition to sharing product size and screen information, Majin Bu also shared other details about the 2024 iPad Pro, such as that it will be powered by Apple's latest M3 chip, have 8GB of memory, 12-core GPU, and will be powered by Apple. The display will be up to 3,000 nits bright (almost double the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro's maximum brightness) and will integrate a software-driven "Smart Island."

At the end of December 2023, South Korean news source yeux1122 broke the news that in the supply of new panels for the upcoming Apple OLED version of iPad Pro, LG Display's supply proportion is higher than Samsung Display's.

The news also said that LG Display plans to start mass production of OLED panels for Apple's OLED version of the iPad Pro from February 2024. The company originally expected to offer 6.2 million OLED panels, but has now increased that to 6.5 million.

Now, Korean media reports that LG Display has recently started producing thin film transistors (TFT) for the new 13-inch iPad Pro display, while Samsung will also start producing thin film transistors for the new 11-inch iPad Pro this week.

Last week, display analyst Ross Young said that the upcoming M3 iPad Pro will be the first OLED tablet of its kind to feature series stacking technology, and will have the "brightest and longest life OLED" display thanks to series stacking technology. In addition, he said that the M3 iPad Pro will be the lightest and thinnest OLED tablet.
