On January 10, Chengdu High-tech Zone and BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. signed an investment cooperation agreement in Chengdu, which will build the country's first and the world's second 8.6 generation AMOLED display device production line in Chengdu, with a total investment of 63 billion yuan. Shi Xiaolin, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and Chen Yanshun, chairman of BOE Technology Group, attended the signing activity. Deputy Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee and Mayor Wang Fengchao delivered a speech. BOE Technology Group Vice chairman Liu Xiaodong, municipal leaders Cao Junjie, Xian Rongsheng, Chengdu High-tech Zone Management Committee director Yu Hui attended the signing activity.

BOE 8.6gen AMOLED production line project is the largest single industrial project in Sichuan Province so far, and is expected to achieve mass production in the fourth quarter of 2026. The products are mainly located in the medium size AMOLED panel, using the technical route different from the existing 6 generations of AMOLED panel, mainly used in high-end notebook computers, tablets and other IT products. After the completion of the project, Chengdu will become the largest flexible panel production base in the country, and will attract a group of upstream and downstream enterprises to gather in Chengdu, helping Chengdu's electronic information industry to build a strong chain and manufacturing strong city construction, and provide strong support for industrial investment in the province.

In October 2014, BOE's 6th generation AMOLED panel production line project (B7) signed a contract to land in Chengdu High-tech Zone, with a total investment of 46.5 billion yuan. The project achieved mass production in October 2017, which is the second AMOLED production line in the world and the first mass production in China.

In August 2017, BOE AMOLED process technology Test Center signed a contract to land in Chengdu High-tech Zone, further promoting the development of OLED industry research and development, production, and testing in Chengdu, and enriching Chengdu's new display product types.

In June 2020, the BOE Smart System Innovation Center project with an investment of 10 billion yuan landed in Chengdu High-tech Zone, focusing on core technologies such as display, sensing, artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing, and building a multi-dimensional innovation ecology integrating technology development, achievement transformation, industry incubation, talent exchange and display and transaction.

In 2022, in order to seize the global LCD and OLED vehicle display module market share, BOE invested in the construction of the BOE Chengdu vehicle display Base project in Chengdu High-tech Zone, which achieved a historic breakthrough of "starting in the year, putting into production in the year, and making profits in the year".

The continuous increase in investment over the past 16 years shows BOE's firm confidence in the development of Chengdu. And that's just a microcosm.
