Samsung's LCD panel procurement cost in the first half of this year was 46.7 percent lower than the 3.6657 trillion won in the same period in 2022. However, taking into account the unit price of LCD panels fell by nearly half in the same period, as well as external factors such as the decline in demand for TV LCD, analysts said that the cost of buying panels in the first half of the year was similar to the cost of the same period in 2022, or even increased compared with 2022. In fact, the price of a 65-inch LCD panel was above $300 last August and is now in the low $100 range. Samsung Electronics' reliance on Chinese panel makers has increased, especially as Samsung Display was removed from the list of major LCD panel suppliers this year.
