E Ink, a global e-paper leader, announced that color e-paper has been adopted by Sharp Corporation, a Japanese digital billboard leader. Sharp has developed two color digital poster displays (ePoster) based on E Ink Gallery Plus color e-paper technology, 25.3-inch and 13.3-inch, which are expected to be mass-produced in October and September, respectively.
ePoster, a digital poster display, solves the difficulty of power distribution and load-bearing in some fields, and plays the electronic paper only consumes power when replacing the screen, and can maintain the screen without power, so users can install it with a lower threshold. In addition, the thin and light characteristics of electronic paper, easy to hang and install, coupled with the texture of colored electronic paper similar to printed posters, so that ePoster aimed at retail department stores, restaurants and other places set digital advertising billboards to replace the market demand of paper posters.

Following the launch of the 42-inch black and white electronic paper ePoster in the Japanese market in early April this year, in response to the enthusiastic market demand, the new product line has expanded the integrity of the series of products, and for the first time, the use of Yuan-Tai technology E Ink Gallery Plus full color electronic paper technology to provide customers with a display solution suitable for various situations.
In Sharp's new ePoster series of products, the main electronic paper billboard users can easily update the picture content through a USB device, memory card or mobile APP operation. If users buy the system suite service "e-Signage S" provided by Sharp, they can make an appointment or update the picture of multiple billboards through the network platform to strengthen the management of the content background.

The company compared the impact of using 32-inch paper advertising, LCD and e-paper outdoor digital billboards on carbon dioxide emissions. If 10 e-paper billboards operate 20 hours a day, update their ads four times an hour and use estimates for 5 years, the use of e-paper billboards is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 500,000 tons compared with LCD billboards. If compared to the traditional paper one-time printing of promotional posters, it can reduce about 4 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
