Foxconn has acquired the right to use 195,000 square meters of land in the Zhengzhou Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, with a total value of 197 million yuan, to build smart warehouses, the company said in a statement on behalf of its subsidiary Hon Fujin Precision Electronics.

According to the announcement, Foxconn obtained land use rights assets east of Fuba Street and north of Kanger Road in Zhengzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone from Zhengzhou Airport Economic Experimental Zone Branch of Zhengzhou Natural Resources and Planning Bureau and Zhongmou County Natural Resources Bureau.

The land area of this transaction is about 195,400 square meters (about 293.17 mu), and the total amount of the transaction is 197 million yuan.

Foxconn's chairman, Liu Yangwei, began a four-day tour of the Zhengzhou plant on Tuesday. It is reported that Liu Yangwei's three major tasks during his visit are: to stabilize the supply chain in the mainland; Inspire the confidence of frontline staff; Visited local officials to ensure the smooth mass production of the new high-end iPhone 15 series in the second half of the year, to avoid other supply chains to grab orders.

In addition, Liu Yangwei stressed that in the Group's 3+3 transformation and upgrading strategy, Henan has great development advantages and will continue to invest and develop in Henan.

Foxconn's Zhengzhou factory is currently the largest iPhone production base in the world. It is estimated that 50% of the world's iphones are made in Zhengzhou. However, Apple is actively promoting India to become the second largest iPhone production base and will produce 25% of its iphones in India in the long term. Zhengzhou's importance in the iPhone supply chain cannot be replaced.
